Powder Coating

Most metal components are suitable for powder coating. At ARC we can get your steel powder coated to give an attractive finish.

We powder coat most of our Railings because we believe it gives the most appealing painted look available.

Advantages of Powder Coating

  • Great Decorative finish
  • Variety of Colours available
  • Swift Turnaround
  • Environmentally friendly process (no solvents used)
  • Thin, hard, long lasting coating
  • Good corrosion resistance

What is Powder Coating?

Powdered paint is applied to and item by electrostatically charging the metal, then applying the paint with a spray gun. The paint is then cured under heat to allow it to flow/melt and form a continuous film.

Why Powder Coat?

Powder Coating should not crack, chip or peel as with conventional paint films when applied correctly and undamaged. Powder coatings can produce much thicker coatings than conventional liquid coatings without running or sagging.

Typical Applications

Powder coating is suitable for the following:

  • Most metalwork
  • Furniture
  • Automotive parts
  • Commercial Vehicle parts
  • Security products
  • Domestic kitchen and bathroom parts
  • Medical Industry items for disabled persons.
  • Hospital equipment
  • plus many others

Wet Spraying & Hand Painting

If an item is not suitable for powder coating we can offer an alternative wet spray or hand painting.

Wet spraying is ideal for items which cannot tolerate the high temperatures involved in the powder coating process. A Wet Spray provides an attractive finish which is tough and robust, and able to offer long term protection. High Performance Paints for Wet Spraying are available in a wide range RAL and BS colours and finishes.

Alternatively we can hand paint most items in a variety of trade paint types/colours designed to offer protection for metals.
